Paddling Home on Victoria Harbor

Our Assistant Professor Kacey Wong set sail on the Victoria Harbor with his Paddling Home on 16 January, 2010. The Paddling Home was an installation at the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale where Alvin Yip, also an Assistant Professor in the Environment & Interior discipline, was co-chair of the Biennale’s steering committee. Still a few days to go before the Biennale closes on 27 February, check out its website at http://hkszbiennale.org/exhibition

I went to the launch and it was hilarious! There was a big crowd that came out to support Kacey that afternoon despite the blaring sun. The event had so much entertainment value and the 60 seconds really doesn’t do it any justice. There are so many details packed into this little apartment and you must go see it up close!

His apartment is still on show at the Bienniale under the main pavilion until Jan 23. You can actually go inside the 4x4x4 apartment!

Correction: the Bienniale ends on Feb 27! You can go again and again!!!
