SD Students winners of 2010 International Toy Design Competition

Three SD BA (Hons) IPD Graduates Jean Christophe SCOLARI, Ali WU Ka Lai, and Miles XU Dan Xing have won the 1st Prize Award in the Outdoor Toys category at the AIJU’s 6th International Toy Design Competition for their entry, the ‘POOK’ Outdoor Beach Ball Launcher Playset. The design is an outcome of the 2006/07 IPD Yr1 compulsory SD2439 Design for Leisure subject. Tutors: Remi Leclerc and Scot Laughton.

SD BA (Hons) Yr1 IPD Students CHAN Hin Tsz, Natalie CHAN Ka Ching, and Cathy LIU Wing Yan’s entry, the ‘Flingamaball’ Outdoor Parachute Ball Ball Playset, was among the finalists in the same category. The design is an outcome of the 2009/10 SD2439 Design for Leisure subject. Tutors: Remi Leclerc and Roger Ball.

AIJU is the Spanish Association for Toy Technology Research. Over 200 participants from 30 countries participated in the competition. While the three awardees will win a 1800 Euros cash prize, AIJU will grant SD a 1000 Euro scholarship.
